Red Wings trade Tory Dello to New Jersey

The Detroit Red Wings announced Friday afternoon that they have dealt Tory Dello to the New Jersey Devils for future considerations.
Dello has spent the 2024-25 campaign with the Red Wings American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Grand Rapids Griffins where he has tallied one goal and three assists for four points in 27 games.
Dello will report to the Devils’ AHL affiliate the Utica Comets. Detroit had signed Dello to a one-year, two-way contract worth $775,000 last summer.

— Detroit Red Wings (@DetroitRedWings) March 14, 2025The 27-year-old spent the 2023-24 campaign with the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League (AHL) where he tallied three goals and 10 assists for 13 points and 28 penalty minutes in 65 games.
Dello has spent his entire pro career in the AHL bouncing around between teams. He got his first taste of AHL action during the 2019-20 campaign when he suited up for one game with the Griffins after wrapping up his four-year campaign at the University of Notre Dame. Dello captured back-to-back NCAA B1G Championships with Notre Dame and registered 40 points in 154 games.
The Lakewood, Illinois product’s best offensive production came in the 2021-22 campaign while playing with the Laval Rocket, he tallied five goals and 13 assists for 18 points in 55 games and added one assist in 15 Calder Cup playoff contests.
During the 2014-15 season, Dello represented Team USA at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and captured a bronze medal on a squad that featured Tommy Novak, Brock Boeser, Troy Terry and Joe Cecconi.
Prior to his NCAA tenure, Dello spent three years with the Tri-City Storm of the USHL and captained the team in 2015-16 to a Clark Cup championship, registering 12 points in 50 regular season games and two goals and five points in 11 USHL postseason contests. Dello was named the USHL Gentleman of the Year.
