Poulter will remain in the AHL with the Utica Comets. The 22-year-old joined the organization in June 2022, signing a two-way deal and splitting time between the AHL and the ECHL’s Adirondack Thunder.
In 2023-24, the goaltender has a 14-5-4 record in Utica with a .913 SV% and a 2.54 GAA. He’s one of nine AHL goalies who has three-or-more shutouts this season. Since making his AHL debut, he’s totalled a 21-8-4-3 record with Utica.
Before joining the Devils, Poulter played parts of four seasons between 2018-19 and 2021-22 with the Swift Current Broncos of the Western Hockey League. He posted a 20-23-6 with a .911 SV% and a 3.00 GAA.
The Devils are 27-21-4 with 58 points in 52 games, fourth in the Metropolitan Division and two points out of the second and final wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
Netminder Vitek Vanecek has a 17-9-3 record with an .890 SV% and 3.18 GAA. Backup Nico Daws has a 5-5-0 record with a .906 SV% and has won his last two starts, posting a combined .950 SV% in that span.
They play again Thursday when they host the Los Angeles Kings in a rematch of the 2012 Stanley Cup Final. They wrap up the week with a home game against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night.
