DFO Rundown – Ep. 66: Getting to Know Our New Teammate Tim Peel
We have another new member of our team at Daily Faceoff. Former NHL Referee Tim Peel is joining us for the upcoming season and he hopped on the podcast to talk about his career, the incident that happened last season, and more.
Tim refereed over 1300 NHL games, 90 playoff games, and even got a chance to officiate the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. He was one of the most experienced officials when his time with the NHL ended. We started the interview by digging into the incident that ended his NHL career and Tim gave his perspective on what happened and how it affected his life.
We also got into the current state of NHL officiating, the mindset of an NHL referee, how the game changes between the regular season and playoffs, and much, much more. Tim was open, honest, and gave some great answers to some tough questions.
