Last season, Lundestrom scored five goals and six assists for 11 points in 46 games with the Ducks. He missed the first 36 games of the regular season due to a torn Achilles suffered in the offseason.
Drafted No. 23 overall by the Ducks in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, Lundestrom has spent his entire career with Anaheim. Through six NHL seasons, Lundestrom has scored 31 goals and 38 assists for 69 points in 258 career regular-season games.
Before going to North America, Lundestrom played in his native Sweden, scoring 11 goals and 19 assists for 30 points in 108 games with Lulea HF in the Swedish Elite League.
Internationally, he represented Sweden at the World Junior Championships twice, scoring three goals and three assists for six points in 12 games across the two tournaments. He helped them win silver in 2018.
The Ducks shocked hockey fans on Friday when they selected Beckett Sennecke No. 3 overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. Ranked No. 14 in Daily Faceoff prospect analyst Steven Ellis’ final Top 100 NHL Draft Prospects, Ellis said on Friday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE that there were rumbling Anaheim would take him with the lottery pick.
“(N)o one had him that high early in the season but he’s continuing to grow. I remember watching him when he was 5-foot-8, and he’s 6-foot-2 now, and he can crush players,” Ellis said.
“Could you imagine him and Mason McTavish playing together on the Ducks and crushing guys?”
