Oilers never lost control in Game 4 victory

The Edmonton Oilers are running high, as they are now just a win away from moving on to the Stanley Cup Final for the second year in a row.
After dropping the first game of the Western Conference Final to the Dallas Stars, the Oilers have been able to win the past three games, including a 4-1 victory in Game 4 on Tuesday night, and take a stranglehold on the series.
Along with some excellent goaltending from Stuart Skinner, Edmonton has done a great job of cashing in on their opportunities. Even when it seems like the Stars have been the better team, the Oilers have managed to keep their composure and pull through, something that hasn’t been seen from this team in recent years.
On Wednesday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Tyler Yaremchuk and Frank Seravalli explain why the Oilers’ performance on Tuesday was exceptional.
Tyler Yaremchuk: Another, what I would call, mature performance by the Oilers. They didn’t have their best through 40 minutes. They really had to rely on Stuart Skinner early in that game, but I don’t think Dallas had a grade-A opportunity in the third period when they were down 2-1.
Frank Seravalli: I think the thing that I was thinking watching the game, and obviously, you had a front-row seat to it, but the Oilers never really lost control. They were never really not in control of the game, which I think is another way to say “mature effort.” It was rather, in the end, pretty decisive and the Oilers have held a market advantage throughout this entire series, trailing for a grand total of 14:02 through four games that they’ve been in the driver’s seat. So, maybe control is the applicable word because they’ve dictated just about every portion of the way that this series has unfolded and the style that it’s going to unfold. So, that part has been a huge feather in their cap.
