The Edmonton Oilers are switching things up between the pipes once again.

When speaking to the media on Tuesday morning, Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner confirmed he’ll be in goal against the Florida Panthers in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.

Skinner sat on the bench during the fifth game of the series on Saturday night, as Calvin Pickard was given the call after stepping in for Skinner during Game 4, picking up an overtime win in a relief effort. Unfortunately, lightning didn’t strike twice for the Oilers, as Edmonton stumbled out of the gate once again, losing 5-2, and falling behind 3-2 in the series.

Skinner had lost two of the first three games of the series, allowing five goals in Games 2 and 3, giving up 16 goals in total through his four starts against the Panthers.

Skinner has had a roller-coaster of a postseason. He lost the starting job after losing the first two games of the playoffs against the Los Angeles Kings. After Pickard won six straight games, Skinner was called back into action after Pickard went down with an injury in the second round against the Vegas Golden Knights. The 26-year-old picked up his game, winning seven of his next nine starts, including four against the Dallas Stars, to help get the Oilers to the Stanley Cup Final for the second year in a row.

In 14 appearances this postseason, Skinner is 7-6, with a 2.99 goals-against average and a .891 save percentage, both far worse numbers than he had in 2024. He does have three shutouts so far, two of which came against the Golden Knights.

Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final is set to take place at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday night. Puck drop is scheduled for a little after 8 p.m. ET.
