Trying to decide which goalies to start is a dilemma that Fantasy Hockey owners face daily. 

We here at DailyFaceoff try to make being a Fantasy Owner as easy as possible. Each day, we will rank the day’s starting goalies based on their Projected Win%, Goals Against Average, and SV%. Win percentage and expected goals against are generated from Sportsbooks Odds and Implied Totals. 

In addition to the Starting Goalies Rankings table, we will have a write-up about the best streaming options for that day (if any).

Brian Elliott (TBL vs. DAL) – 5% Rostered

Since joining the Lightning last season, Elliott has gone 14-5-3 with a 2.58 GAA, .909 SV% and one shutout. He ranks 15th in GAA and t-29th in SV% (min.20 games) during that time. He’s been a rock-solid backup to Andrei Vasilevskiy and has been a prime fantasy spot-start option, winning 66.7 percent of his starts. The Stars rank second in the NHL in goals per game (3.72) but 15th in xGF/60 (3.13) so the matchup may not be as daunting as it looks at first glance. The sportsbooks have the Lightning’s implied Win% at 56.0, the highest among goalies who are under 50 percent owned, making him the No.1 spot start target tonight.
