The Panthers can withstand everything thrown at them

The class of the Eastern Conference for the past few seasons has been the Florida Panthers. Thanks to another great run in the postseason, the team has a chance to win the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row.

The Panthers might not have been the best team in the conference during the regular season, but when the chips were down, the big guns stepped up, taking down the Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes to move on to the championship series for the third year in a row.

Now, the team has a chance to become just the third team in the salary cap era to win back-to-back Cups, joining the Pittsburgh Penguins (2016, 2017) and Lightning (2020, 2021) in the select class.

On Thursday’s edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discussed what this victory means for the Panthers heading into the final.

Frank Seravalli: They find a way. They do it in an incredibly entertaining fashion and they do it with force and bravado. They have a strong team that is willing to punch you in the face, is willing to take punches, and there’s a reason why this team has won so many series in the last three years because they can withstand just about anything you throw at them in any way that you want to try and play the game.

This Panthers team is incredibly impressive. I think they were even banged up at varying points this series to see them get back on the ice. Sam Reinhardt and Niko Mikkola back contributing again. A hugely positive sign heading into a Stanley Cup final in which they can hoist the cup for the second straight spring. I think what we’re left with, too, is really just the vision of the Panthers walking off the ice almost without any celebration. … ‘That’s awesome. But we’ve been here. We’ve done it before.’ It was very business-like in Raleigh in Game 5.
