Florida Panthers goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky earned the 424th win of his National Hockey League career on Thursday night following a 3-2 victory over the Toronto Maple Leafs, moving him into 10th place in NHL All-Time Goalie wins. Bobrovsky surpasses Hall of Famer Tony Esposito.

Bobrovsky has captured 42 wins with the Philadelphia Flyers, 213 wins with the Columbus Blue Jackets and now sits at 169 wins with the Panthers.

Earlier this season, Bobrovsky became the fastest goaltender in league history to rack up 400 wins doing so in 707 games. The Russian netminder is also second in wins among active goaltenders, trailing Marc-Andre Fleury of the Minnesota Wild, who is second all-time with 573 wins.

So far this season, Bobrovsky has put together a record of 28-14-2 in 44 games along with a .907 save percentage and a 2.49 goals-against average.

Bobrovsky went undrafted, joining the Flyers in 2010, but became one of the league’s top goaltenders during his seven seasons with the Blue Jackets. In 2019, he made a big splash when he signed a seven-year contract to come to Sunrise, carrying an AAV of $10 million through the 2028-29 season.

Last season, the two-time Vezina Trophy winner helped lead the Panthers to the franchise’s first Stanley Cup by defeating the Edmonton Oilers in a wild seven-game series last spring.

“At 3-1, he’s not going to like the 3-2 goal,” Panthers head coach Paul Maurice said of Bobrovsky’s game per NHL.com’s Jameson Olive. “Then you’re thinking you’re going to have a hard time beating him now because now he’s angry in the net. He just totally fits our team. He’s so calm in that net.”

Florida sits in first place in the Atlantic Division with a four-point cushion over the Maple Leafs.
