Panthers sign MacKenzie Entwistle to two-year contract

The Florida Panthers announced Thursday that the club has signed right winger MacKenzie Entwistle to a two-year, two-way contract.
Limited to seven regular-season appearances in 2024-25 with the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers – the Panthers’ farm club – Entwistle collected one goal and one assist for two points coupled with 10 penalty minutes and a plus-two rating. Entwistle then saw eight more showings in the Calder Cup Playoffs in which he tallied two goals and one assist for three points with 20 penalty minutes.
Originally chosen by the former Arizona Coyotes in the third round of the 2017 NHL Draft, the 25-year-old native of Georgetown, Ont., has since appeared in 193 NHL contests with the Chicago Blackhawks in which he has notched 15 goals and 20 assists for 35 points. With the Blackhawks in 2023-24, Entwistle saw a career-high 67 games in which he recorded five goals and six assists for 11 points.
At the AHL level, Entwistle has totaled 87 appearances over five seasons. With the Rockford IceHogs in 2019-20, Entwistle registered a career-high 26 points counting 11 goals and 15 assists coming in 56 games.
A graduate of the Canadian junior circuit, Entwistle total 220 career contests with the OHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs and Guelph Storm over four seasons from 2015-19. A two-time J. Ross Robertson Cup winner in the OHL, Entwistle was a playoff champion with the Bulldogs in 2018 and again with the Storm in 2019.
Entwistle has also seen success in international competition, joining Team Canada at the 2019 World Juniors where he scored three times in five games. The forward was also named a top-three player with Canada at the 2017 IIHF Under-18 World Championship after he put up a team-leading seven points counting four goals and three assists in five outings. Entwistle was also part of Canada Red at the 2015 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge where he scored once in five games.
