Panthers’ championship experience could come in handy in Game 2

The Edmonton Oilers took Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Florida Panthers Wednesday night, defeating the defending champions 4-3 in overtime, thanks to a Leon Draisaitl two-goal effort.
Down 1-0 going into Game 2 on Friday night, the Panthers will have to find a way to tie the series before the Final shifts back to Sunrise, Fla., for Games 3 and 4. The question going into Game 2 now becomes: do the Panthers keep attacking with the same style that got them to the Stanley Cup Final, or do they need to adjust their game in order to even things up?
On Friday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk are live in Edmonton ahead of Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final. They discuss the Panthers’ Game 1 loss and what they may need to adjust heading into Friday night.
Tyler Yarmechuk: How can the Panthers respond and bounceback? They’re now in their third straight Stanley Cup Final, they’ve been through advirsity. They’re not going to be scared after a Game 1 loss.
Frank Seravalli: Especially after a game they lost in overtime and had a two-goal lead in. Let’s see what Paul Maurice has up his sleeve in Game 2. The Oilers got more comfortable as Game 2 went on, picking through what the Panthers were presenting. They found solutions. How will Florida react? Do they play not as aggressive as they did? It’s part of their DNA, but if they change it up a bit, the Oilers may go, “huh?”
I don’t know what to expect, but to expect the same exact game is about to be played, I think we’re in for a bit of a change.
