Golden Knights confirm Alex Pietrangelo, William Carrier will play Game 1 vs. Stars
Vegas Golden Knights’ head coach Bruce Cassidy said Alex Pietrangelo and William Carrier will be in the lineup for Game 1 of the team’s first-round matchup against the Dallas Stars.
Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said Mark Stone, William Carrier and Alex Pietrangelo will all play tonight. Logan Thompson will start in net.
Vegas will use a lineup that has never played together before in Game 1.

Pietrangelo, 34, played 64 games this season, scoring four goals and 29 assists for 33 points. However, he missed the last seven games of the season, dealing with an undisclosed injury.
Carrier, 29, hasn’t played since March 25. Through 2023-24, the winger has scored six goals and two assists for eight points in 39 games.
Earlier in the day, captain Mark Stone confirmed he would also play in the opening game of the seven-game series against the Stars.

The team also confirmed that Logan Thompson, who won nine of his last 11 appearances, will get the start in Game 1. It will be his first-ever start in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Golden Knights finished the season with a 45-29-8 record and 98 points, clinching the No. 2 Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. Vegas and Dallas faced each other in the Western Conference Finals last spring, with the Golden Knights winning the series 4-2.
Three of the first five games of the series went to overtime, but in the deciding Game 6, the Golden Knights won 6-0, clinching a spot in the Stanley Cup Final.
Jonathan Marchessault finished the season with the team lead in points with 69 (42 goals and 27 assists), while Jack Eichel, who only played 63 games but scored 31 goals and 37 assists for 68 points.
