Golden Knights’ Ivan Barbashev out day-to-day with upper-body injury
On Tuesday, Vegas Golden Knights head coach Bruce Cassidy revealed that forward Ivan Barbashev is listed as day-to-day with an upper-body injury.
Barbashev is considered day to day with an upper body injury according to Bruce Cassidy.
Nic Roy missed today’s practice with a maintenance day.
Barbashev suffered the injury during Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Wild. During the second period, the 29-year-old got entangled with Wild forward Marcus Foligno, hitting the ice forcefully. Barbashev was slow to get off the ice and didn’t return to the game.
The Golden Knights went on to win the game, 3-2.
It is unknown if Barbashev will be available to play for the remainder of the week. Vegas is off until Thursday when the team hosts the Vancouver Canucks.
The Moscow native has been one of the best players on the Golden Knights’ roster this season. Through 31 games, he has scored 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points, leading the team in goals and is second in points behind Jack Eichel. Barbashev had scored in back-to-back games before getting hurt against Minnesota. At his current pace, he could surpass his career-high 60 points that he registered during the 2021-22 season as a member of the St. Louis Blues.
Since coming to Sin City, Barbashev has been healthy. After missing just one game three seasons ago, he went on to play 82 games over the past two years and has appeared in every game for the Golden Knights so far in 2024-25.
In 546 NHL games, Barbashev has scored 118 goals and 151 assists for 269 points. He has also posted 31 points in 79 postseason games, including 18 points during Vegas’ run to the Stanley Cup in 2023.
The Golden Knights (20-8-3) are first in the Pacific Division, four points ahead of the Los Angeles Kings, and two behind the Winnipeg Jets for the most points in the Western Conference.
