Golden Knights place Ivan Barbashev on injured reserve
The Vegas Golden Knights announced that they have placed Ivan Barabshev on injured reserve with an upper-body injury, the injury is retroactive to Dec. 17.
Barbashev suffered the injury during Decembers game against the Minnesota Wild. During the second period, the 29-year-old got entangled with Wild forward Marcus Foligno, hitting the ice forcefully. Barbashev was slow to get off the ice and didn’t return to the game.

— Daily Faceoff – Fantasy (@DFOFantasy) January 2, 2025Through 31 games, he has scored 15 goals and 15 assists for 30 points, leading the team in goals and is second in points behind Jack Eichel prior to his injury. The Moscow native has been one of the best player for Vegas this season.
Barbashev had scored in back-to-back games before getting hurt against Minnesota. At his current pace, he could surpass his career-high 60 points that he registered during the 2021-22 season as a member of the St. Louis Blues.
Since coming to Sin City, Barbashev has been healthy. After missing just one game three seasons ago, he went on to play 82 games over the past two years and has appeared in every game for the Golden Knights so far in 2024-25.
In 546 NHL games, Barbashev has scored 118 goals and 151 assists for 269 points. He has also posted 31 points in 79 postseason games, including 18 points during Vegas’ run to the Stanley Cup in 2023.
