The 29-year-old spent the last three seasons with the PWHPA, and before that scored five goals and six assists for 11 points in 16 games with the NWHL’s Minnesota Whitecaps in 2018-19.
Brandt was a breakout star as a teenager. Playing high school hockey with Hill-Murray in 2011-12, she scored 59 goals and 31 assists in 26 games, totalling 22 multi-point and 20 multi-point games throughout the year, including 13 hat tricks.
She was named Minnesota Ms. Hockey and committed to play her college hockey at the University of Minnesota.
She was an immediate force in the NCAA, recording 33 goals and 49 assists for 82 points in her first season. The only player in Division 1 hockey who had more points was her linemate, Amanda Kessel, with 101. The team had an undefeated season and won the 2013 National Championship.
In her sophmore season, she led the country in assists with 42 and her team in goals with 23, helping Minnesota reach the National Championship before losing to Clarkson.
In her junior season, she scored 34 goals and 40 assists for 74 points and helped lead the team to their second National Championship in three years.
In her fourth and final season, she captained the team to a 32-4-1 record and their third national title in four years, defeating Boston College in the final.
