How do the Panthers compare to previous Cup winners?

The Florida Panthers go into Thursday night with a 2-1 series lead over the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Final. Following a 6-1 win in Game 3 on Monday, the Panthers have all the confidence in the world as they inch closer to their second consecutive Stanley Cup championship.
On Thursday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss the Panthers’ last few years and how they compare to some of the best teams the NHL has seen in the 21st century.
Tyler Yaremchuk: This is a Panthers team that, just seeing them on the ice, they are very, very loose, they’re very confident. They’ve been through every possible playoff scenario you could go through. That’s why I don’t think a blowout win does anything to their ego – I don’t think they’re taking their foot off the gas, thinking “Ooh, we got the Oilers now.”
Frank Seravalli: I’m with you, and I think they’re in an incredible position here to win a second straight Stanley Cup. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but they proved in Game 3 that they’re very comfortable playing any style you want to play. They can drag you into the alley, they can beat you with brawn and skill, we can beat you with speed, we can forecheck you to death. They are one of the most well-rounded teams we’ve ever seen.
I’ve said this, and people have laughed at me over the last few weeks when I said this, that this team would give any team over the last few decades a run for its money. I’m talking 2010 Chicago Blackhawks, 2010s Los Angeles Kings, the Pittsburgh Penguins, whomever had a “dynastic era,” this Florida team is just as good, if not better, for their versatility and the way that they play.
