Jeff Skinner agrees to waive no-movement clause for the Expansion Draft
Here’s a rare win for the Buffalo Sabres. Jeff Skinner has agreed to waive his no-movement clause, meaning he can be exposed to the Seattle Kraken in the Expansion Draft.

Skinner has been a mess for the Sabres since signing an eight-year, $72,000,000 contract extension back in June o f 2019.
The Sabres acquired Skinner from the Carolina Hurricanes in 2018 with one year left on his contract and he scored 40 goals, earning him a massive contract. Since then, though, Skinner has scored just 21 goals and 37 points over 112 games. That’s not ideal given his $9,000,000 cap hit.
Though the Kraken surely won’t take this contract from Buffalo, this ensures they’ll be able to protect an extra young forward, such as @Tage Thompson or @Rasmus Asplund.
