Johnny Gaudreau passes Patrick Kane as USA Hockey All-Time points leader
Columbus Blue Jackets forward Johnny Gaudreau has now passed Patrick Kane as USA Hockey’s all-time points leader at the IIHF Men’s World Championship. The Blue Jackets’ forward notched one goal and five points in the USA’s 10-1 thumping over Kazakhstan.

Gaudreau has tallied three goals and eight assists for 11 points in six games at the Worlds so far. He has tallied 13 goals and 30 assists for 43 points in 38 games spanning over five World Championships. With Gaudreau sitting at 11 points, he has now tied his career high he set at the 2017 Worlds’ where he put together six goals and five assists in eight games. He captured a Bronze medal with USA in 2018.
USA will now face off against Latvia on Tuesday, where Gaudreau will have the opportunity to extend the points lead.
Meanwhile, New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson is now tied for USA’s all-time goals leader at the World Championship with 19 goals, tied with Bruce Mather who set the record in 1949.
Nelson has three goals and four assists for seven points in six games so far at the 2024 Worlds’ and throughout his career has notched 19 goals and 35 points in 38 games.
