Jonathan Marchessault captured 13 out of 18 first-place Conn Smythe ballots from the PHWA

Vegas Golden Knights forward Jonathan Marchessault was named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner as Stanley Cup Playoff MVP on Tuesday night, and now we have access to the voting breakdown.

Marchessault, 32, received 13 of 18 first-place votes from members of the Professional Hockey Writers Association, who were required to submit their ballots with 10 minutes remaining in the third period of Game 5.

Jack Eichel received the other five first-place votes, including one from Daily Faceoff hockey insider and PHWA president Frank Seravalli.

Each voter listed their first, second, and third choice for the Conn Smythe, with points awarded on a 5–3–1 basis. Marchessault received five second-place votes on top of his 13 first-place votes for a total of 80 points.

Eichel finished second with a total of 56 points, although he only appeared on 16 ballots. He received five first-place votes, 10 second-place votes, and one third-place vote.

Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill received three second-place votes and eight third-place votes, good for a total of 17 points. Mark Stone received eight third-place votes (eight points).

Finally, Florida Panthers forward Matthew Tkachuk received a single third-place vote from le Journal de Montreal‘s Jean-Francois Chaumont.

Marchessault became the 10th winger to win the Conn Smythe Trophy. The ex-Florida Panther scored 13 goals — one for each first-place vote — and 25 points in 22 games to lead the Golden Knights to their first-ever Stanley Cup.

Seven different players scored for the Golden Knights in their 9–3 victory over the Panthers in the clinching Game 5 at T-Mobile Arena. Vegas became the first Western Conference team to win the Stanley Cup at home since the 2015 Chicago Blackhawks.
