The Toronto Maple Leafs kept their season alive Thursday night with a 2-1 Game 6 win over the Boston Bruins, tying their series at 3-3 and forcing a Saturday night Game 7 in Boston.

A big part of their success has been goaltender Joseph Woll, who stopped 22 of 23 shots he faced against the Bruins in Game 6, another impressive performance after he stopped 27 of 28 shots against the Bruins in Game 5 last Tuesday.

Can the rookie netminder backstop Toronto to a Game 7 victory on Saturday night? Will the Maple Leafs be able to provide more scoring support against the Bruins?

On Friday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss Game 6 and how the Maple Leafs have climbed back in this series, how the Bruins are repeating the faults of 2022-23, and if Woll has been the difference in Toronto’s success.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Does it give you any more hope in Toronto when you see the way Joseph Woll is playing? It took 59 minutes and 59-and-a-half seconds to finally solve him in Game 6.

I also want to give a shoutout to Mike McKenna, who two years ago-

Frank Seravalli: Two years ago!

Tyler Yaremchuk: -he was on this. He said Woll was the best goalie in their system, and the first time he said it, I said “Who?!” But Woll has come through, and he’s been excellent this week.

Frank Seravalli: That’s what shifted the series, Maple Leafs’ head coach Sheldon Keefe shifting to Woll, and he’s been outstanding. But he needs more support, and that goal with half-a-second left shows the importance of William Nylander’s second goal. If THAT goal doesn’t go in, then we’re potentially talking about an entirely different thing.
