KHL player drops his phone on the ice mid-shift. What happened?

A funny moment in the KHL as Ak Bars Kazan forward Nikita Dynyak’s phone fell out of his pocket during the middle of his shift.

Dynak has tallied three goals and four points for seven points in 34 games this season.

Today on Daily Faceoff Live, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk broke down the funny moment in Russia.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Bit of a funny moment here in the KHL where a phone fell out of a players pants mid shift. The referee scooped it up and goes down the bench like, “Who’s is it? Who’s is it?.” I imagine the player was struggling to even admit if it was his phone or not.

Frank Seravalli: Look, I know it’s 2025 and the conversation is probably different nowadays but could you imagine if it was Mike Keenan or another legendary hard ass coach? Like it’s unforgiveable honestly, unless you’re like texting your wife or girlfriend and say their pregnant but even then you should give your phone to the trainer and be like, “Hey let me know if something happens.” But for me, I’d be needing to see the receipts on what he was texting about here though before I make a decision.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Like we talked about before the show, it’s not like NHL players are texting during their games.

Frank Seravalli: Well no, at least we don’t think they are. Maybe occasionally you’re sneaking a peak to check something, but for the most part you’re dialed in, you’re focused on what you’re eating and drinking, checking on your equipment, taping your stick, whatever it might be.
