Kings’ Darcy Kuemper out day-to-day; Pheonix Copley recalled
The Los Angeles Kings announced that goaltender Darcy Kuemper is day-to-day with an undisclosed injury.
Goaltender Pheonix Copley has been recalled from the Kings’ American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Ontario Reign.

Kuemper has appeared in three games to start the 2024-25 season, putting together a 3.59 goals against average and .890 save percentage.
Kuemper was acquired by the Kings in exchange for Pierre-Luc Dubois . Kuemper had a down year in Washington, with a 13-14-3 record, an .890% save percentage, one shutout and -1.73 goals saved above expected. He currently has three years left on his five-year contract with a $5.25 million cap hit.
Over the past two seasons, Copley has appeared in 40 games with the Kings, recording a 28-7-5 record with a .887 save percentage, a 2.90 goals-against average and two shutouts. During the 2022-23 campaign, 2022-23, he posted a 24-6-3 record with a 2.64 goals-against average, a .903 save percentage and one shutout.
In his NHL career, Copley has appeared in 76 regular-season games, holding a 44-16-8 record with a 2.83 goals-against average, a .899 save percentage and three shutouts.
Prior to joining the Kings as a free agent in July 2022, Copley spent eight seasons with the Washington Capitals and St. Louis Blues. He was originally undrafted and signed with Washington in 2014.
