Kings’ Trevor Moore and Trevor Lewis to return to lineup vs. Lightning
The Los Angeles Kings have announced that winger Trevor Moore and center Trevor Lewis will be returning to the lineup on Saturday against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Moore has missed the last eight games due to an upper-body injury he sustained in the Kings’ 3-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils on December 12th. He had been placed on injured reserve last week retroactive to the original injury date, and was activated off of IR on Saturday to join the roster. The Kings went 5-1-2 during his absence.
Moore was having a tough season before the injury after a career season in 2023-24, as he has just 6 goals and 12 assists for 18 points in 28 games.
Lewis has missed the last 12 games with a lower-body injury that he sustained in the Kings’ 5-2 win over the Ottawa Senators on November 30th. That game was the 999th of his career, so by playing in Saturday’s game against the Lightning, he’ll hit the 1,000 game milestone. The Kings went 8-2-2 during his absence.
Lewis has been surprisingly productive by his standards so far this season, with 3 goals and 4 assists for 7 points in 24 games.
Both Moore and Lewis are projected to slot into the lineup on the fourth line on the wings of Samuel Helenius. That trio has played just 18 seconds together this season, with nothing of note occurring during that time.
In order to make room on the roster for Moore and Lewis, the Kings have loaned winger Andre Lee to their AHL affiliate, the Ontario Reign, and designated defenseman Kyle Burroughs to non-roster playing status.
The Kings will look to extend their three-game winning streak when they host the Lightning on Saturday at 6 p.m. PST. They currently sit in second place in the Pacific Division with a 22-10-5 record.
