Kirill Kaprizov and the Wild have agreed on a five-year contract
The Minnesota Wild have the 2021 Calder Trophy winner locked up to a long-term deal.
According to Frank Seravalli, the Wild and Kirill Kaprizov have agreed to terms on a five-year contract worth $9,000,000 annually.
Sounds like Kaprizov has a full no-move for the final two years of the deal, but the deal does not include signing bonus money.

The Wild drafted Kaprizov with the No. 135 overall pick back in 2015. He spent five seasons in the KHL and then finally came overseas the made his NHL debut in 2021. In 55 games, he led the Wild in both goals with 27 and points with 51.
There was skepticism that the Wild would be able to get a long-term deal worked out with Kaprizov. The prevailing thought was that he would ink a two-year deal, like Artemi Panarin did a few years ago, in order to reach unrestricted free agency sooner. He also inked a tentative one-year deal in the KHL, which further added worry that the Wild wouldn’t be able to reach a deal.
This deal will eat up a couple of UFA years and Kaprizov will be able to hit the open market after the 2025-26 season.
