Kirill Kaprizov has a tentative one-year deal in place with CSKA Moscow
The 2021 Calder Trophy winner might be headed back to Russia.
According to Frank Seravalli, Kirill Kaprizov has a tentative one-year deal in place with KHL club CSKA Moscow. The deal would begin on Sept. 1 and is worth eight-figures.
Initial hang-up was MIN was only interested in a 7 or 8-year deal for the Calder Trophy winner. That’s not the case. Bunch of options in term.
But the Kaprizov camp contends there has been no offer made since April.
We’ll see where this goes, two sides remain in communication.

Kaprizov was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the fifth round of the 2015 draft. He spent five seasons after that playing in the KHL, most recently with Moscow, and made his NHL debut in 2021. As a rookie, Kaprizov led the Wild with 27 goals and 51 points.
The speculation back in June was that Kaprizov was seeking a shorter-term deal that would walk him right to unrestricted free agency, as we saw with @Artemi Panarin. Panarin made his NHL debut in 2014-15 and signed a two-year deal after his two-year entry-level deal expired, allowing him to ink a massive contract with the New York Rangers while he was still in his 20s.
