Kyle Connor’s return gives red-hot Winnipeg Jets even more firepower
Winnipeg Jets leading sniper Kyle Connor returned to the lineup last following a knee-on-knee collision that kept him out of action. Connor looked back to himself, even notching an empty-net-goal to seal the deal. Today on Daily Faceoff Live, Tyler Yaremchuk and Frank Seravalli discuss his return and how the Jets have even more firepower in their arsenal now.
Tyler Yaremchuk: Kyle Connor made his return to Winnipeg and in a weird way it almost got lost in the Jets heater when they went on a run without their leading goal scorer. He returned last night for his first game since Dec 10 and when you look at these numbers, the Jets went 13-2-2, .824 points percentage, 3.41 goals for and 1.71 goals against. All 13 wins came in regulation. The run they went on without Kyle Connor is incredible
Frank Seravalli: For Kyle Connor to be out that long and for the Jets not to miss a beat, not into so they defend so well, but you watch last night’s game but you see how he impacts the game right away. He slows things down on the powerplay and maybe that shot in the arm was lagging when he was out. The way they defended was insane, last night was 13th game in a row that the Jets have allowed two or fewer goals. I don’t know what’s more impressive, 13 games in a row with two or fewer goals or 33 games now with three or less goals. Nov. 7 was the last time they allowed more than three goals in a game.
