The Ottawa Senators have announced that their gravy boat giveaway on Oct. 14 against the Los Angeles Kings has been cancelled.
Plans were for the first 10,000 fans to receive gravy boats. However, a labour disruption has led to the gravy boats being stranded at a shipping port in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
The Senators have announced that due to the disruption, fans will receive a voucher redeemable for a free popcorn and soft drink. The gravy boat promotion is now slated for Dec. 7 against the Nashville Predators.

— Ottawa Senators (@Senators) October 11, 2024“We are disappointed we could not execute our gravy boat giveaway on Monday, but this was a situation that was completely out of our control,” said Senators senior vice president of marketing and customer engagement Jeff Harrop. “But we are excited to have the giveaway in December where we can still tie it into a nice holiday theme.”
Ottawa is currently 1-0-0 after defeating the Florida Panthers in their first game of the season 3-1 on Thursday night in a battle between Matthew and Brady Tkachuk. Tim Stutzle found the back of the net twice and Shane Pinto picked up the other goal for Ottawa, while Josh Norris, Jake Sanderson and Tkachuk picked up assists. Linus Ullmark stopped 30 shots and picked up his first win as a member of the club. The Senators will play the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday.
