The Toronto Maple Leafs announced that they have re-signed goaltender Joseph Woll to a three-year contract extension. According to details of the contract, the average annual value (AAV) is $3.66 million.

Woll spent the 2023-24 season split between the Maple Leafs and their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate the Toronto Marlies. Woll posted a 12-11-1 record with a 2.94 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage in 25 games with the Maple Leafs during the 2023-24 season.

The 26-year-old posted a 2-0 record with a 0.86 goals-against average and a .964 save percentage in three post-season appearances against the Boston Bruins in the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Woll was initially selected No. 62 overall in the third round of the 2016 NHL Draft. He has appeared in 39 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs and has posted a 23-13-1 record with a 2.65 goals-against average and a .915 save percentage. Woll also appeared in four playoff games for the Maple Leafs during the 2022-23 campaign after Ilya Samsonov was injured, going 1-2 with a .915 SV% in three appearances and making two starts.

The Dardenne Prairie, Missouri native had taken over the No. 1 job in Toronto this season. After Matt Murray was placed on LTIR, and Samsonov did not have the best of seasons, Woll stepped up when called upon.
