The London Knights have won the 2025 Memorial Cup, beating the Medicine Hat Tigers 4-1 Sunday night in Rimouski.

This is the third time in franchise history that London has won the Memorial Cup.

The first period got off to a hot start with a flurry of chances on both ends of the ice, but it was Winnipeg Jets prospect Jacob Julien opening the score for the Knights in the first frame. Julien was found on a breakaway and pulled a quick move to beat Tampa Bay Lightning prospect Harrison Meneghin on the backhand. Meneghin then would get a big toe save on a breakaway shot from Easton Cowan, keeping the game at 1-0 as the period wound down. As the final minute of the first period came to a close, Tigers forward Ethan Neutens fired a shot off the crossbar.

As the second period opened up, it was Cowan once again getting the puck and would rifle it past Meneghin to make it 2-0. Cowan’s goal ties him with Mitch Marner for the most Memorial Cup points in franchise history. Not long after that, Philadelphia Flyers prospect Denver Barkey came flying down the ice and found the back of the net to make it 3-0 for London quickly in the second. As the 10-minute mark approached, Cowan would score, but it was ultimately waived off for goaltender interference. But that didn’t stop the Knights as Barkey scores his second of the night on the powerplay. The Tigers would then have a number of chances, two of which hit off the post, but Knights goaltender Austin Elliott stood tall between the pipes to keep the lead at four.

Gavin McKenna gave the Tigers life when he ripped home his third goal of the tournament, beating Elliott. McKenna then found the back of the net for his second goal of the game with just over five minutes left to play; however, the goal was overturned due to a high stick. As the 3-minute mark hit, Meneghin headed to the bench, and the Tigers opted for the extra attacker but were unable to get on the board.

Sam Dickinson led the way with three assists while Barkey scored twice to help London secure itself as Canadian Hockey League champions.

Easton Cowan, Denver Barkey, Gavin McKenna, Sam Dickinson, Tanner Moldenyk, and Austin Elliott were named to the CHL Memorial Cup All-Star Team
