The Los Angeles Kings have re-signed Arthur Kaliyev to a one-year, $825,000 extension.

Kaliyev is coming off his three-year, entry-level contract and was a restricted free agent following the 2023-24 season.

TSN’s Darren Dreger was the first to report on the contract extension.

The 23-year-old spent the 2023-24 season with the Kings where he tallied a career-low of seven goals and eight assists for 15 points in 51 games. Kaliyev registered a career-high of 13 goals and 28 points during the 2022-23 campaign.

Kaliyev has spent three seasons with the Kings organization beginning with his NHL debut in 2020-21, where he tallied his first NHL goal. Through 188 games with L.A., Kaliyev has racked up 35 goals and 36 assists for 71 points.

The Uzbekistan native was selected No. 33 overall in the 2019 NHL Draft by the Kings and prior to making his pro debut spent time in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Hamilton Bulldogs. During the 2017-18 campaign, Kaliyev helped lead the Bulldogs to an OHL Championship racking up 11 points in 21 OHL postseason contests. The following season, Kaliyev notched 51 goals and 102 points in 67 games, becoming the OHL’s Top Scoring Right Winger that season. In three seasons, the winger notched 248 points in 192 games while adding 13 points in 25 OHL postseason contests. Kaliyev became the first player in Bulldogs history to record 100 points in an OHL season and holds the franchise record for most points by a skater.

Internationally, Kaliyev represented the United States and won a gold in 2020-21 with the USA at the World Juniors on a club that featured Brock Faber, Matt Boldy, Trevor Zegras, Cole Caufield, Alex Turcotte and more.

Kings preseason officially gets underway next Monday, Sept. 23 against Utah Hockey Club.
