Maple Leafs’ Calle Jarnkrok undergoes surgery, out month-to-month
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced Monday that forward Calle Jarnkrok underwent groin and sports hernia surgery earlier in the day and is listed as month-to-month.

The 33-year-old Jarnkrok has been on long-term injury reserve (LTIR) since the start of the 2024-25 NHL regular season.
Last year, Jarnkrok scored 10 goals and 11 assists for 22 points in 52 games with the Maple Leafs last season. In two seasons with Toronto, Jarnkrok has 30 goals and 30 assists for 60 points in 125 regular-season games.
In 11 NHL seasons, Jarnkrok has 136 goals and 165 assists for 301 points in 699 career regular-season games with the Maple Leafs, Calgary Flames, Seattle Kraken and Nashville Predators.
Taken in the second sound of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings, Jarnkrok spent four seasons in the Swedish Elite League playing for his hometown team, Brynas IF Gavle. His best season came in 2012-13 when he scored 13 goals and 29 assists for 42 points in 53 games.
When he moved to North America, he spent parts of three seasons in the American Hockey League with the Grand Rapids Griffins and Milwaukee Admirals. In his first full season with the Griffins, he scored 13 goals and 23 assists for 39 points in 50 games.
Jarnkrok played a big role in the Predators’ 2017 Stanley Cup Final run, scoring two goals and five assists for seven points in 21 playoff games. He has appeared in 10 playoff seasons, scoring five goals and 17 assists for 22 points in 93 games.
The Leafs are 11-6-2 with 24 points, second in the Atlantic Division and one point behind the Florida Panthers.
