Frost signs Abby Huslter to two-year contract

One of the top picks in this year’s draft has signed her first pro contract.
On Thursday, the Minnesota Frost announced that the team has signed forward Abby Hustler to a two-year contract through the 2026-27 season.
Hustler was taken by the Frost in the second round, 14th overall, of the 2025 PWHL Draft. She was Minnesota’s second selection behind defender Kendall Cooper.
“I am super excited to be joining the Frost and such an amazing hockey community,” Hustler said in a release. “I can’t wait to meet my new teammates and get started.”
Hustler enters the professional ranks after an exceptional career at St. Lawrence University. She spent four years as one of the Saints’ top scorers, helping the team advance to the NCAA National Tournament in each of the past two seasons, ultimately being eliminated in the quarterfinals both times.
In 2023-24, alongside current Seattle forward Julia Gosling, Hustler was one of the top players in the ECAC. In 39 games, she set career highs in goals (24), assists (31) and points (55). Along with being named Second Team All-ECAC, she was a finalist for the Patty Kazmaier Award.
Hustler, who served as an alternate captain in her junior and senior seasons, had another point-a-game season in 2024-25, posting 19 goals and 20 assists for 39 points in 39 games. In 154 career appearances, the 22-year-old scored 71 goals and 87 assists for 158 points.
Huslter is just the second member of the Frost’s 2025 draft class to sign her first contract, following Cooper, who also signed a two-year deal. Other draft picks, such as Ava Rinker and Hustler’s St. Lawrence teammate Anna Segedi, have yet to sign with the team. The rookies will join the two-time defending Walter Cup champions, who, despite being torn up during the expansion process, still have big names like Kendall Coyne Schofield, Taylor Heise and more.
With the signing, Minnesota has 17 of a possible 23 players signed to standard contracts for the 2025-26 season.
