Wild activate Jonas Brodin from LTIR; Marcus Johansson off IR

The Minnesota Wild will have a bolstered up lineup Tuesday versus the Boston Bruins as defenseman Jonas Brodin has been activated from the long-term injured reserve, while forward Marcus Johansson has returned from the injured reserve.
Sidelined for the past 12 games due to a lower-body ailment, Brodin has been limited to 31 appearances on the season in which he has registered four goals and 12 assists for 16 points alongside a plus-10 rating and six penalty minutes.
Originally chosen 10th overall by Minnesota in the 2011 NHL Draft, the defensive-minded rearguard is skating in his 13th season with the Wild. In all, the 31-year-old Swede has seen 834 career contests in which he has collected 58 goals and 198 assists for 256 points. In 2021-22, Brodin reached a career high of 30 points.
Per PuckPedia, Brodin is in the fourth year of a seven-year pact that carries a $6-million annual average value.
For Johansson, the 34-year-old Swedish-born forward returns to the lineup after missing the past eight games due to a concussion. On the season, Johansson has notched five goals and 11 assists for 16 points through 44 appearances.
Skating in his fourth season and second stint with Minnesota, Johansson has totaled 955 career appearances counting stops with the Washington Capitals, New Jersey Devils, Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Seattle Kraken, and Wild in which he has amassed 179 goals and 320 assists for 499 points. Johansson was originally chosen 24th overall by the Capitals in the 2009 NHL Draft. With Washington in 2016-17, Johansson reached a career-high 58 points.
Johansson is eligible to become an unrestricted free agent in July.
Entering Tuesday’s contest against the Bruins, the Wild sit third place in the Central Division with a 31-18-4 record and 66 points. Tuesday marks the first meetup between Boston and Minnesota this season, with the second half of the season series set for March 2 in St. Paul.
