The Minnesota Wild have re-signed Nick Bjugstad to a one-year contract extension, the club announced Monday.

Bjugstad, 28, appeared in 44 games this year scoring 17 points. A native of nearby Minneapolis, Bjugstad has played in 483 NHL games with the Florida Panthers, Pittsburgh Penguins and the Wild scoring 103 goals and 224 points.

The right-shot centre was slated to be a UFA this offseason.

Minnesota acquired Bjugstad from the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sept. 11, 2020 in exchange for a conditional pick in the 2021 draft.
