Montreal Victoire activate Dominika Laskova; place Alexandra Labelle on LTIR

The Montreal Victoire announced Saturday the team activated defender Dominika Laskova from Long-Term Injured Reserve (LTIR), while placing forward Alexandra Labelle on LTIR with an upper-body injury.

The 28-year-old Laskova suffered a knee injury last season and played just seven games for Montreal last season, recording eight penalty minutes. Taken in the fourth round of the league’s inaugural PWHL Draft, Laskova averaged nearly 20 minutes of ice time in her seven contests.

“Dominika has worked hard to return to the game after suffering a major injury in order become available to contribute to our team’s progression,” Victoire General Manager Danièle Sauvageau said in a team statement.

Laskova was a member of the PHF’s Toronto Six, helping them win an Isobel Cup in the league’s final season. In 24 regular-season games, she had four goals and nine assists for 13 points, then produced a goal and assist in four Isobel Cup Playoff games.

Meawhile, Labelle suffered an upper-body injury during Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Frost. In 16 games this season, Labelle has a goal and three assists for four points. In 24 games last season with the New York Sirens, she had a goal and two assists for three points.

Going into Saturday’s game against the , the Victoire are 9-3-1-3 with 34 points and a plus-nine goal differential, first in the PWHL standings. Captain Marie-Philip Poulin leads the team in points with 13, scoring 11 goals and adding two assists. Forwards Abby Boreen and Jennifer Gardiner are tied with 12 points each.
