Victoire sign Maggie Flaherty to one-year deal
The Montreal Victoire announced Friday they had agreed to terms with defender Maggie Flaherty to a one-year contract through the 2025-26 season.

Flaherty, 25, is coming off back-to-back Walter Cup championships with the Minnesota Frost. Last season, she scored one goal and one assist for two points, averaging 14:43 of ice time in 22 games. In 46 career regular-season games, she has two goals and six assists for eight points.
She has also played in 16 career playoff games, recording one goal and six penalty minutes.
“Maggie brings a steady presence on the back end. She’s a tough defender to play against, defends well, and is confident with the puck on her stick,” Victoire General Manager Daniele Sauvageau said in a press release. “Her offensive game will continue to grow, and she has great upside as a two-way defender in the PWHL.”
Flaherty, a native of Lakeville, Minn., spent five seasons with the University of Minnesota-Duluth, scoring 16 goals and 60 assists for 76 points in 153 career games.
“I am incredibly excited and grateful to continue my professional career with such an amazing organization. I can’t wait to play in front of Montréal’s amazing fans and explore the beautiful city,” said Flaherty.
Internationally, Flaherty won gold with the U.S. National Team at the IIHF World Under-18 Championship in 2018.
The Victoire finished the 2024-25 season with a 12-7-3-8 record and 53 points, finishing first in the league. They were eliminated in four games by the Ottawa Charge in the first round of the playoffs.
