Predators’ Colton Sissons week-to-week with lower-body injury

The Nashville Predators announced Monday that center Colton Sissons will be sidelined on a week-to-week basis after suffering a lower-body injury.
Facing the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday, Sissons exited midway through the first period and did not return after sustaining the injury. On the season, Sissons has made 72 appearances with the Predators in which he has collected seven goals and 14 assists for 21 points coupled with 22 penalty minutes and a minus-12 rating.
Originally chosen 50th overall by Nashville in the 2012 NHL Draft, Sissons has since spent part of 11 seasons with the Predators in which he has tallied 95 goals and 126 assists for 221 points. Last season, the 31-year-old native of North Vancouver, B.C., reached a career-high 35 points counting 15 goals and 20 assists coming in 81 games. Sissons has also added 10 goals and 15 assist for 25 points through 71 appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Per PuckPedia, Sissons is in the sixth year of a seven-year pact that carries a $2,857,143 cap hit.
Beyond Sissons, the Predators also announced Monday that fellow forward Jonathan Marchessault will be out of the lineup day-to-day due to a lower-body injury. Currently skating in his first season with the Predators, the 34-year-old product of Cap-Rouge, Que., sits second in team scoring with 49 points counting 19 goals and 30 assists through 73 contests. A veteran of 711 NHL games, Marchessault has notched 249 goals and 287 assists for 536 career points.
In July, Marchessault agreed a five-year deal with the Predators in unrestricted free agency worth $5.5 million per season, according to PuckPedia.
For the Predators, on the season the club sits 27-38-8 and has been mathematically eliminated from qualifying for the 2025 Stanley Cup Playoffs, marking the second time in the past three seasons that Nashville will not compete in the postseason.
