The Nashville Predators pulled off the first four-goal comeback in franchise history, completing it with a 7-5 win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday night.

The Sharks scored four goals on eight shots against Predators’ goaltender Juuse Saros in the first period, giving San Jose a 4-1 lead and forcing Nashville to replace Saros with Justus Annunen, then the Sharks scored five minutes into the second period to make it 5-1.

The Predators would go on to score six unanswered goals, potting two by the end of the second to make it 5-3, then tying the game five minutes into the third period with two quick goals.

They would take the lead midway through the final frame, with defenseman Nick Blankenburg scoring his third of the season to make it 6-5.

Nashville would add an empty netter to make it 7-5, completing the largest comeback in franchise history.

Jonathan Marchessault had a goal and three assists, while both Filip Forsberg and Tommy Novak had a goal and two helpers.

The Predators are now 17-22-7 in 46 games with 41 points, seventh in the Central Division and 10 points back of a playoff spot in the Western Conference. Nashville has won four straight and are now 6-4-0 in their last 10 games.

Forsberg leads the team in scoring with 45 points, scoring 16 goals and adding 29 assists. Marchessault has 15 goals and 23 assists for 38 points, and captain Roman Josi leads Nashville’s blue line nine goals and 25 assists for 34 points.

They will fly out to California to take on the Sharks Thursday, then face the Anaheim Ducks Saturday.
