Predators’ Jeremy Lauzon out 4-6 months with lower-body injury

The Nashville Predators announced Tuesday that defenseman Jeremy Lauzon will be sidelined for the next four-to-six months due to a lower-body injury.

On the season, Lauzon has been limited to 28 contests, with his last appearance coming in late December, his sixth game back in the lineup after missing 10 games earlier that month due to a lower-body ailment. Through 2024-25, Lauzon has registered one assist with 37 penalty minutes and a minus-four rating.

The 27-year-old is in his fourth year with the Predators following a successful showing in 2023-24 where through 79 games he reached a career-high 14 points counting six goals and eight assists. Lauzon also led the league with 383 hits, standing 137 more than second-ranked blue-liner Simon Benoit of the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Originally chosen 52nd overall by the Boston Bruins in the 2015 NHL Draft, Lauzon has seen 316 career contests with the Bruins, Seattle Kraken, and Predators in which he has tallied 14 goals and 31 assists for 45 points. Lauzon has also added one point through 22 appearances in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Selected by the Kraken in the 2021 NHL Expansion Draft, Lauzon was traded to the Predators eight months later in exchange for a second-round selection in the 2022 NHL Draft. Per PuckPedia, Lauzon is in the third year of a four-year contract that carries a $2-million annual average value.

A native of Val-d’Or, Que., Lauzon helped Canada to a silver medal finish at the 2017 World Juniors where through seven outings he scored twice and added an assist for three points.

Following the conclusion of the 4 Nations Face-Off, the Predators return to the ice Saturday against the Central Division rival Colorado Avalanche. Through 54 games this season, the Predators stand 19-28-7 and 18 points back of the Vancouver Canucks for the second wildcard seed in the Western Conference.
