Nashville Predators re-sign Philip Tomasino to a one-year, $825,000 contract

Nashville Predators general manager Barry Trotz announced that the club has re-signed Philip Tomasino to a one-year, $825,000 contract.

Tomasino spent the 2023-24 season with the Predators where he tallied seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points in 41 games. Additionally, Tomasino added 18 points in 22 American Hockey League (AHL) games with the Predators affiliate the Milwaukee Admirals. During the Admirals’ run to the Calder Cup playoffs Western Conference Final, Tomasino added five goals in 15 games, third most among skaters.

Tomasino has spent three seasons with the Predators organization and has appeared in 148 games, racking up 23 goals and 47 assists for 70 points in that frame. Tomasino has tallied 82 points in 89 AHL regular-season appearances and 15 points in 31 Calder Cup Playoff contests.

The 23-year-old was originally selected by the Predators No. 24 overall during the 2019 NHL Draft. Tomasino spent three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Niagara Ice Dogs and Oshawa Generals. Tomasino posted 79 goals and 117 assists for 196 points in 190 career OHL games. During the 2019-20 campaign, Tomasino collected 40 goals and 60 assists for 100 points.

Internationally, Tomasino represented Canada at the 2021 World Junior Championship, tallying six points in seven games, and taking home a silver medal.
