Cody Glass has signed a two-year contract with the Nashville Predators worth $2.5 million per year.

The 24-year-old center is coming off of a career-best 35-point season in his first full NHL campaign. Glass also had four assists at the World Championship, winning gold with Canada.

Drafted sixth overall by Vegas in 2017, Glass spent parts of two seasons with Vegas before getting traded to Nashville in a three-team deal involving Ryan Ellis and Nolan Patrick.

Glass struggled to stay in the lineup full-time and had just one assist in eight games a year ago, with most of his damage coming with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals. Last year, Glass was one of the team’s most improved players.

The 24-year-old should play a bigger role next season with the departures of Ryan Johansen and Matt Duchene. He has a chance to take over the No. 1 center position, fighting for time between Juuso Parssinen and Thomas Novak.

The Predators have $11.279 million in cap space after signing deals to Luke Schenn, Gustav Nyquist and Ryan O’Reilly to deals earlier in the day.
