Nazem Kadri alleges Jordan Binnington threw water bottle at him after Game 3
Nazem Kadri and Jordan Binnington brought massive drama to Game 3 between the Colorado Avalanche and St. Louis Blues Saturday night. And it didn’t end on the ice.
During the first period of Colorado’s 5-2 victory, the Avs’ Kadri drove the net, battling with Blues defenseman Calle Rosen before crashing hard into Blues goaltender Binnington, who was hurt on the play. Binnington left the game, replaced by Ville Husso. As reported by ESPN’s Emily Kaplan Sunday, Binnington’s injury is to his knee and will cause him to miss at least Game 4. Per Andy Strickland, the Department of Player Safety did not deem the collision worthy of supplemental discipline for Kadri, who finished the game with a goal and an assist.
Binnington allegedly felt Kadri did deserve a punishment. During this TNT postgame interview, while discussing the play that injured Binnington, Kadri claimed, “Not sure if he just threw a water bottle at me.”
