The Winnipeg Jets have acquired defenseman Colin Miller from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for a 2026 fourth-round pick.

This move comes just a few hours after the Devils and Jets completed the Tyler Toffoli deal.

The 31-year-old defenseman has tallied four goals and four assists for eight points in 41 games this season while racking up 33 blocked shots and 79 hits averaging 15:55 of ice time. Miller signed a two-year, $3,700,000 deal with the Dallas Stars prior to the 2022-23 campaign, he has one year left on his contract that pays him an average annual value (AAV) of $1,850,000. Miller was dealt by the Stars to New Jersey last summer in a cap dump move.

Miller was originally drafted No. 151 overall in the 2012 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. He made his NHL debut in 2015-16 with the Boston Bruins and spent one season there before being picked up by the Vegas Golden Knights in the expansion draft. Miller spent two seasons with Vegas and signed a four-year, $15,500,000 contract that saw a cap hit of $3,875,000. Miller was dealt to the Buffalo Sabres during the second year of his contract with Vegas. He spent two and a half seasons with the Sabres before signing with Dallas for the 2022-23 campaign. In nine NHL seasons with the Bruins, Golden Knights, Sabres, Stars and Devils, Miller has totalled 165 points in 507 games, while adding 12 points in 40 Stanley Cup Playoff contests.

Winnipeg currently sits second in the Central Division with a 39-17-5 record and 83 points through 61 games. With the Jets adding Toffoli and Miller, both from New Jersey, watch for the two to make their debuts with Winnipeg as early as Saturday vs. Vancouver Canucks. However, with VISA issues being a known problem, they might not play until Monday vs. Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals.
