New York Rangers acquire Justin Braun from Philadelphia Flyers
The New York Rangers have acquired right-shot defenceman Justin Braun from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for a third-round pick, according to Sportsnet’s Jeff Marek.
Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli confirmed the pick going back to Philadelphia is a 2023 third-round pick.
“Braun was one of just four right-shot defensemen that were on our Daily Faceoff trade targets top 50 list heading into today,” said Seravalli on the Daily Faceoff Show Trade Deadline Special. “He is on the move and the nice thing about the New York Rangers and Braun is that he can play on either side, so they’ve got lots of options. Certainly the right side can get pretty crowded when it comes to Jacob trouba and Adam Fox. Braun can play on the right if you need, and he can play on the left as well.”
The 35-year-old veteran has tallied five goals and 11 assists through 61 games played this season with the Flyers while averaging 20:02 of ice time per game.
