As the 2024-25 campaign enters the stretch run, keep your eyes on the Big Apple.

On Monday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk chatted about the Manhattan club that has rebounded in a big way to now find itself just three points shy of a playoff position in the Eastern Conference.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Let’s talk a bit about the results we saw on the ice over the weekend. A couple of teams in similar spots in the standings but kind of going two different ways are the Boston Bruins and New York Rangers. The Rangers right now are two points back of the Bruins, with a game in hand. The Rangers have one regulation loss in their last 10. The Bruins are 3-5-2 in their last 10. If I made you bet on one, out of those two, who has the better playoff chance?

Frank Seravalli: I think the Rangers. I think they are the way more talented team. I think one regulation loss in the past 10 games now, that is points in nine out of 10. They have kind of gotten back to the level of play we expected them to. It had been a mess there for a really long period of time, but they are starting to feel it again. They are starting to find it again and make their way back. Look, I think they have a number of things that they can hang their hat on that just so few other teams in that Eastern Conference muck really can. It’s star power, it’s top-end talent, it’s one of the best goalies in the league. Is their defense core in flux? Will we see pieces changed out? I’ve got four of them on my Trade Targets board. Yes, we will between now and the March 7 trade deadline. But if I had to pick any team that is in the muck it would be the Rangers to make it.
