NHL announced 32 nominees for 2025 King Clancy Trophy

The NHL announced Tuesday the 32 nominees for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, presented annually to the player who best demonstrates leadership on and off the ice and who has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution within his community.

In addition to the trophy, the winner will be presented with a $25,000 donation to benefit a charity of his choosing plus a grant of upwards of $20,000 to his NHL team to help organize a special activation related to the cause of his choosing.

The nominees include one player from each of the NHL’s 32 teams, as shown below by division:

Atlantic Division: Charlie McAvoy, Boston Bruins; Alex Tuch, Buffalo Sabres; Jeff Petry, Detroit Red Wings; Aleksander Barkov, Florida Panthers; Nick Suzuki, Montreal Canadiens; Brady Tkachuk, Ottawa Senators; Victor Hedman, Tampa Bay Lightning; Mitch Marner, Toronto Maple Leafs.

Central Division: Connor Murphy; Chicago Blackhawks; Devon Toews, Colorado Avalanche; Matt Duchene, Dallas Stars; Frederick Gaudreau, Minnesota Wild; Ryan O’Reilly, Nashville Predators; Colton Parayko, St. Louis Blues; Alexander Kerfoot, Utah Hockey Club; Adam Lowry, Winnipeg Jets.

Metropolitan Division: Jordan Staal, Carolina Hurricanes; Zach Werenski, Columbus Blue Jackets; Jack Hughes, New Jersey Devils; Matt Martin, New York Islanders; Adam Fox, New York Rangers; Garnet Hathaway, Philadelphia Flyers; Kevin Hayes, Pittsburgh Penguins; Tom Wilson, Washington Capitals.

Pacific Division: Radko Gudas, Anaheim Ducks; Jonathan Huberdeau, Calgary Flames; Darnell Nurse, Edmonton Oilers; Kevin Fiala, Los Angeles Kings; Mario Ferraro, San Jose Sharks; Jaden Schwartz, Seattle Kraken; Quinn Hughes, Vancouver Canucks; Jack Eichel, Vegas Golden Knights.

Last season, Islanders captain Anders Lee was presented with the King Clancy Memorial Trophy in recognition of his work with the Jam Kancer in the Kan Foundation in which he hosted events to help raise $155,000 for cancer research funding, of which he contributed $30,000.

The King Clancy Memorial Trophy was first awarded at the conclusion of the 1987-88 season.
