NHL announces All-Star, All-Rookie teams for 2022-23 season

The NHL has announced the two All-Star teams and one All-Rookie team for the 2022-23 season after the conclusion of the NHL Awards Ceremony that took place on Monday night.

The first All-Star team consists of Dallas Stars left winger Jason Robertson, Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid, Boston Bruins right winger David Pastrnak, San Jose Sharks defenseman Erik Karlsson, New York Rangers defenseman Adam Fox, and Bruins goaltender Linus Ullmark.

The second All-Star team consists of Rangers left winger Artemi Panarin, Oilers center Leon Draisaitl, Florida Panthers right winger Matthew Tkachuk, Bruins defenseman Hampus Lindholm, Colorado Avalanche defenseman Cale Makar, and New York Islanders goaltender Ilya Sorokin.

The All-Rookie team consists of Arizona Coyotes left winger Matias Maccelli, Seattle Kraken center Matty Beniers, Stars center Wyatt Johnston, Buffalo Sabres defenseman Owen Power, Ottawa Senators defenseman Jake Sanderson, and Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner.

McDavid led all centers in voting by a significant margin, getting all but one first team vote (with the lone vote not for him going to Rangers center Mika Zibanejad), while Draisaitl beat Avalanche center Nathan MacKinnon by 16 points. McDavid led the league in scoring with 64 goals, 89 assists, and 153 points in 82 games, while Draisaitl was second with 52 goals, 76 assists, and 128 points in 80 games.

Robertson led all left wingers in voting by a significant margin, collecting 175 first place votes, while Panarin beat Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins by 54 points. Robertson finished the season tied for sixth in scoring with 46 goals, 63 assists, and 109 points in 82 games, while Panarin finished in 17th with 29 goals, 63 assists, and 92 points in 82 games.

Pastrnak led all right wingers in voting by more than 300 points, while Tkachuk had a nearly 300 point lead over Avalanche winger Mikko Rantanen for second. Pastrnak finished the season tied for third in scoring with 61 goals, 52 assists, and 113 points in 82 games, while Tkachuk finished tied for sixth with 40 goals, 69 assists, and 109 points in 79 games.

Karlsson led all defensemen in voting by almost 200 points, with Fox holding an almost 300 point lead for second, Makar having an almost 100 point lead in third, and Lindholm finishing 49 points ahead of Winnipeg Jets defenseman Josh Morrissey for fourth. Karlsson led defensemen in scoring with 25 goals, 76 assists, and 101 points in 82 games, while Fox was eighth with 12 goals, 60 assists, and 72 points in 82 games, Makar was ninth with 17 goals, 49 assists, and 66 points in 60 games, and Lindholm was 16th with 10 goals, 43 assists, and 53 points in 80 games.

Ullmark led all goaltenders in voting by more than 300 points, while Sorokin also had more than 300 points over Jets goalie Connor Hellebuyck for second. Ullmark finished the season tied for first with Avalanche goalie Alexandar Georgiev for 40 wins (doing so in 13 fewer games) and first outright in save percentage with .938, while Sorokin finished the season in ninth with 31 wins and third in save percentage with .924.
