Nikita Kucherov sets Lightning team scoring record

There’s a new all-time points leader in Tampa Bay Lightning franchise history.
Forward Nikita Kucherov assisted on Brayden Point’s power-play goal in the first period against the Utah Mammoth, which gave the Lightning a 3-1 lead and Kucherov the 1,138th point of his career, one more than Steven Stamkos’ franchise record and handing the title to the Tampa Bay winger.
Kucherov tied the franchise record Wednesday after he scored against the Vegas Golden Knights.
In 13 NHL regular seasons, Kucherov has 405 goals and 733 assists for 1,138 points in 890 career games. During that span, he’s recorded six 100-point campaigns, four 40-goal seasons and five 80-assist campaigns.
In 2023-24, Kucherov became the fifth player in NHL history to record 100 assists in a single season. That season, he recorded career highs across the board with 44 goals and 100 assists for 144 points.
He’s led the league in both assists and points three times during his career (2018-19, 2023-24 and 2024-25). Kucherov also recorded his 1,000th career point in 2025-26.
Kucherov also scored 54 goals and recorded 123 assists for 177 points in 159 career playoff games. He was a major factor in the Lightning’s back-to-back Stanley Cup championships in 2020 and 2021, and helped the club reach the Stanley Cup Final two more times in 2015 and 2022.
The native of Maykop, Russia, has earned several individual awards through his career. He won the Art Ross Trophy three times, the Hart Trophy twice and the Ted Lindsay Award twice.
Going into Saturday night, the Lightning were 7-3-0 through their first 10 games of 2026-27. Kucherov and Brandon Hagel were tied for the team lead in points with 13.
