Ottawa Senators center Josh Norris will be out of the lineup on a week-to-week basis after suffering a mid-body injury, Senators head coach Travis Green confirmed to TSN 1200 Ottawa on Monday.

Facing the Minnesota Wild on Saturday, Norris exited late in the third period and did not return following a hit by Wild center Jakob Lauko. Despite his early exit, Norris wrapped up the contest with one goal that stood as the eventual game winner in the 6-0 home ice victory.

Through 50 appearances with the Senators this season, Norris has notched 19 goals and 12 assists for 31 points to sit sixth in team scoring. Through six seasons with the Senators, Norris has totaled 89 goals and 65 assists for 154 points through 233 career contests.

Originally chosen 19th overall by the San Jose Sharks in the 2017 NHL Draft, Norris joined the Senators the following year as part of the deal that shipped former captain Erik Karlsson to the Sharks. In 2022, the Senators inked Norris to an eight-year extension that carries a $7.95-million annual average value, per PuckPedia.

With Norris sidelined, the Senators have recalled left winger Cole Reinhardt from the AHL’s Belleville Senators. Through 16 showings with Belleville this season, the 25-year-old Calgary native has produced north of a point per game as he collected seven goals and 10 assists. Reinhardt has also seen 12 games with Ottawa in 2024-25, registering one goal and one assist for two points with 11 penalty minutes and a minus-five rating.

On the season, the Senators third place in the Atlantic Division with a 28-20-4 record and 60 points. Winners of four straight, Ottawa will try for its fifth-straight victory when the club returns to the ice Monday to take on the Nashville Predators. The Senators last qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs in 2017.
