Senators are playing with house money – and they’re not going down without a fight

The Ottawa Senators stayed alive Tuesday night, defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs 4-0 and cutting the first-round series deficit to 3-2. The two teams now travel back to Ottawa for Game 6, where the Senators hope to pull off another win and force a winner-take-all Game 7 in Toronto.
Linus Ullmark stopped 29 shots to get the shutout, while captain Brady Tkachuk and Tim Stutzle each finished with a goal and assist in the victory. As the series shifts back to Ottawa for Game 6, the Senators, a team that hasn’t played in the Stanley Cup Playoffs since 2017, is the plucky underdog that has nothing to lose, and could soon pull off one of the greatest upsets in NHL history against its arch rival.
On Wednesday’s episode of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Frank Seravalli and Tyler Yaremchuk discuss the Senators’ Game 6 victory and if the Maple Leafs are letting this series get away from them.
Tyler Yaremchuk: Put some respect on the Senators’ name. To their credit, look at those stat lines for Stutzle and Tkachuk. It’s their first playoffs and they’re showing they have a little jam.
Frank Seravalli: I expected that. I’m not taking anything away from the Sens. You hear their coach Travis Green after the game say they didn’t feel any pressure, because they’re playing with house money. There are no expectations, this team is not expected to win this series.
Which further underlines the issue with the Toronto Maple Leafs. This is supposed to be the easiest opponent in the run. This was the spoils of winning the Atlantic Division. You know who is waiting on the other end of this? The Florida Panthers, who will blow your doors off.
